One of the things which I loved about this talk (you can find it here) was the sense of optimism that pervaded it. Did you know that President Packer gave a very similar talk several years ago? You can find it here - "Do Not Fear." I also enjoyed listening to the CES fireside talk he gave yesterday; it seemed like he covered many of the same points, which to me just gave them more emphasis. We live in exciting times, and I'm grateful for the counsel to not worry about that - to listen to my leaders, follow the Spirit, and just do what is right.
We attended Young Women in Excellence last week, and one of the girls sang the song, "Maybe I will be There" taken from the September 2001 New Era. I thought it went quite well with this talk. You can find the music here, but here are the words:

I think that having a testimony that we've been sent to earth at the right time for us is critical. We need to know that Heavenly Father knows us individually and we need to discover what our personal mission might be. I'm grateful for talks like President Packer's that help me in this quest.
