Thoughts at a Baptism
Wayne gave the closing remarks at a baptism in our ward last week, and I thought I would record my notes so I can remember them in the future. These were geared to an eight-year-old girl.
After referring to Mosiah 18:8 and 2 Nephi 31:19-20 he encouraged her to set some goals:
Also, her grandmother talked about the Three Bears of Baptism, something I'd never heard of before but has been around for a while. It was actually kind of cute - Bear one another's burdens, Bear the name of Christ, Bear testimony of him.
This looks like a good place to add a couple of new resources I just discovered, to help young children (that would be our fantastic grandchildren) understand the importance of keeping covenants.

After referring to Mosiah 18:8 and 2 Nephi 31:19-20 he encouraged her to set some goals:
- Read the Book of Mormon every day.
- Pray every day.
- Obey her parents every day.
- Be kind to her brother and sister every day.
- Be respectful of her toys and belongs every day.
- Help around the house every day.
As we try to keep the commandments and follow Jesus' example and stay close to Heavenly Father every day, we will stay on the path to return to him.
