Attribute #2 - Trust

Adam also joined our family this year, which means we don't know him too well yet. However, we do know that he trusts others. He trusts his older sisters to not hurt him and he trusts his parents to take care of him and teach him. We are confident that not only will he continue to trust his family as he grows, but he'll learn to trust God and he'll become trustworthy himself. What great qualities to develop!

Adam loved visiting Great-Grandma for Thanksgiving!

Trust: Confident expectation; hope; reliance on the integrity, strength, ability and surety of something

Psalm 16:1
“Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.”

A few years ago Elder Richard G. Maynes gave a wonderful talk on the attributes of Mary, Joseph and Jesus as part of the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. This is what he had to say about Joseph:

Just think how much Heavenly Father trusted Joseph. He trusted Joseph to raise His Beloved Son with loving care. He trusted Joseph to protect both Jesus and Mary. Joseph earned that trust because of his humility, his patience, his obedience, and his willingness to comply with the Lord’s will. He exhibited all of these attributes because he was first a man of complete integrity.

When I think of our Adam's father (spoiler alert for Day #19), I think of integrity, which makes this quote perfect for today. I'm sure we'll discover as we go along that many of these Christ-like attributes are intertwined; it's difficult to have one without having others. What other attributes go with trust?
