Young Women in Excellence
This week we enjoyed another Young Women in Excellence program. This year the theme was "Color your world with be-you-ty" and everyone did a wonderful job. The following poem and quote were shared and each of the girls demonstrated one of their talents. In our ward have actors and singers and dancers, artists and photographers, athletes and bakers - so many talents!
Colors of Our World
God chose a rainbow of colors
To make our world pretty and bright—
A lovely blue hue for the sky
With clouds like big blankets of white.
Purple for faraway mountains,
Green for the grass and the trees,
Brown for big puddles of mud,
Black and yellow for bumblebees.
Gold for the sun that warms us,
Silver for raindrops and ice,
Red for cardinals and roses,
Gray for soft, scurrying mice.
These heavenly colors together
Bring beauty for all eyes to see—
Each one a loving creation,
Especially for you and for me.
“People say the effect is only on the mind. It is no such thing. The effect is on the body, too. Little as we know about the way in which we are affected by form, by color, and light, we do know this, that they have an actual physical effect. Variety of form and brilliancy of color in the objects presented to patients are actual means of recovery.”
