Advent 16

Jesus came to lift our burdens. One of the heaviest burdens we carry is that of hate. In teaching us to forgive, the Lord set us free.

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times?

“Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times, but until seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21-22)

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, our Heavenly Father will also forgive you:

“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:1415)

“Behold I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you.” (3 Nephi 12:44)

Try to forgive someone who has wronged you. If appropriate, go to him today and be reconciled.
